Heritage Canada is known to have called the Charles Rundle Mansion “one of the most important historical properties in Canada” The Rundle mansion is a beautiful example of the Richardsonian Romanesque style as practiced by E.J. Lennox, A celebrated architect whose ornate designs can also be seen in such structures as The Massey house, Old City Hall and Casa Loma.

Charles Rundle was a master builder that worked on several projects with E.J. Lennox during the period. His family had a great talent and appreciation for music which is clearly apparent in the design of the home. The Stained Glass windows and doors, produced by world famous Robert McCausland, are elaborately decorated with music and nature themes. These works of art have been fully restored to their original splendour.

We invite you to join us at Gloucester Square Inns to take a step back in time to an era of Chivalry, High Tea and 19th century charm.
